Four BMT Hi-Q Sigma consultants are preparing for an epic 100 km trek across the South Downs in July 2016.
Following their success in the Bath Rugby Foundation’s Superstars Challenge earlier this year, four consultants from BMT Hi-Q Sigma are now preparing for the epic Trailwalker Challenge, a 100 km trek across the South Downs.
The ‘BMT Beasts’ aim to complete the course in around 20 hours and hope to raise £5,000 for Oxfam and the Ghurka Welfare Trust. Trailwalker is an annual challenge organised by Oxfam and is designed to test the endurance of competing teams both mentally and physically.
The Beasts are being supported by an able crew of volunteers who will help with training, supply rations en route, and of course, provide lots of encouragement. As part of a company that relishes challenges and thrives on delivering excellence, the Beasts thought that Trailwalker was the ideal challenge. Having four competent Project Managers on the team also has its advantages; their detailed planning and comprehensive training progamme covers every eventuality!
The team’s leader, Charlotte Miller, commented:
“We are delighted to be undertaking this challenge and to have the opportunity to raise money for the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam. It makes the difficult training so much easier knowing that we have so many people interested in our trek and wishing us well. And, of course, we are all spurred on by the thought of raising awareness of such worthy causes. It’s really going to test us, but we’re all up for the challenge and determined to do it!”
The Beasts will be undertaking a number of events over the coming months in addition to their training and there will be opportunities to get involved in a variety of ways.
